Dinner and a Movie Final


 I wanted this place setting to convey the celebration of friendship. The movie I choose shows three girls bonding over a short period of time under the rouse of completing a mission. The silverware is meant to represent the romantic couple who were apart of the rouse. The 3 cupcakes are the girls united as one. Having water and salt together were used to represent the ocean which is a big componet in the story.

  In this image I arranged 7 items strategically, to display my favorite things. The first few items are a water bottle and a bathing suit top . These are to symbolize an active lifestyle that I try to live. I love to swim, surf and go to the beach. I always carry my water bottle everywhere, to stay hydrated and healthy. The next items are chapstick and earrings. I included the chapstick to portray my love for self care and taking care of myself more than just eating and sleeping. The earrings goes along the same lines of self care. I love to buy jewelry and dress up outfits with the items I get. Gregor’s Room

       When reading Metaphorisis, I was looking for key elements to display the room like, texture, color and associated objects. A texture that really stuck out to me was crunch. Everything throughout the story seemed crunchy, dirty and unmaintained. In my interpretation of Gregor’s room, I saw a lot of rust toned colors, along with nature based colors. The requirements for this assignment were bed frame, box spring, mattress, head board, 1 furniture piece, blanket, pillow and a representation of Gregor. I modified my room to accomadate the way I visualized the story. Intead of a bed frame, I added a chest at the foot of the bed. My extra furniture piece that I added was a trash can, I felt like this was able to capture the dirty feel. The representation of Gregor I made was a blue box with ripped black paper as soil with a mushroom in it. I splattered ink onto the box spring to mimmick bed bugs.
